Finally, A Reason Why

I have been screaming for years about “SELF-AWARENESS.”
Ya know, people driving in the fast lane going 40.
Those at red lights who wait 5 seconds when the light is green to go.
Those who don’t use turn signals.
I used to think it was road rage that enveloped me.
That literally turned me crazy while in my car.
Here is a tweet from me about self-awareness the other day.

Note to self when driving, NEVER get behind someone with a Hello Kitty sticker on their car

Guy going, yes a guy, going 25 mph in a 40.  I almost lost my mind on this dude. In a serious way.
But, I have found out, it is not road rage.
I have something else.
I have I.E.D.
It is an acronym for Intermittent Explosive Disorder.
(Now before you read any further, this has nothing to do with greasy food and having to go to the bathroom IMMEDIATELY!  Although we could do a whole story on that.)
Here is the definition of I.E.D.
**************************************************************
“Intermittent explosive disorder (IED) is a behavioral disorder characterized by extreme expressions of anger, often to the point of uncontrollable rage, that are disproportionate to the situation at hand. Impulsive aggression is unpremeditated, and is defined by a disproportionate reaction to any provocation, real or perceived. Some individuals have reported affective changes prior to an outburst (e.g., tension, mood changes, energy changes, etc.).[1]“
**************************************************************

Be honest.  How many of you have ever heard of this?  Maybe one or two but come on, not many of us
Says that as many as 16 million Americans suffer from that.
Then I read further and it gets disturbing.
***********************************************************
Individuals diagnosed with IED report their outbursts as being brief (lasting less than an hour), with a variety of bodily symptoms (sweating, stuttering, chest tightness, twitching, palpitations) reported by a third of one sample.[3] Aggressive acts are frequently reported accompanied by a sensation of relief and in some cases pleasure, but often followed by later remorse.
**************************************************

Read that last line again.
“In some cases pleasure, but often followed by later remorse.”
Yes, we are all guilty of yelling and flipping someone off that annoys us on the road but getting your kicks out of an aggressive act?  Holy cow.
And then, it occurred to me.  I am nuts, but what if someone around me is crazier than I am.  And I provoke that dude.  Or girl.
Then I am getting beaten on the side of the road by a guy laughing and pleasuring himself?
If I wanted that, I would go back to football camp.  #OhJoJo
So now I know, that I have I.E.D.
But not the kind I THOUGHT I had.
